Hours spent investigating animal anatomy at the "Grande Galerie de l'Évolution", the Natural History Museum of Paris inspired me to create hybrid creatures. I paired the poise and elegance of the seahorse with the clumsy and bulky nature of the hippo to create a balanced and unique species, reminding me of my own mixed identity. Although nowadays Third Culture Kids are relatively common, it does not take away from feeling like an exotic oddity. The clashing of cultures and species diversifies human innovation.
